Varun Dhawan’s secret food fetish

Along with his upcoming venture with dad David, the young actor talks about his exercise regime and food
Varun Dhawan proved with his debut film ‘Student of The Year’ that he means business and is here to stay. Varun shares the experience of working with dad David Dhawan on his next venture titled, ‘Main Tera Hero’ and also about his favourite food.
He shares that he misses the ‘Vadapav’ and says, “Definitely, I wish I could fetch some free time to be able to go to Mithibai College, where I passed out from. My favourite ‘Vadapav’ I would always relish from there. I do call for another favourite Dosa from the hotel. After Ganpati festival gets over, I shall definitely remove some time and go there, stand at Mithibai’s favourite stall of mine and relish kilos of ‘Vadapavs!’”
“Working with dad is a great learning experience. Dad always likes to get into the detailing of even the minutest things. I too need to try to put in my hundred percent in order to satisfy dad. I had to learn music as I am playing a musician yet again,” says Varun.
On being asked whether there is a weight of pressure riding on his dad’s shoulders for the film to do well? To which, Varun replies, “Definitely, I am not a pressure for dad now. I tried my hand outside; with my debut film with Karan Johar’s production. I must confess that I have been very lucky.” And adds, “Now doing film with dad everyone knows that I too can add a bit from my end as all of them have seen my work at least in the very first film. However, I believe in working more and improving with every scene and film.”
Shedding light on a new way of exercising, ‘Dancercise’ for which he shot a video recently, he shares, “It is a different way to exercise your body. This was however, started by Sridhar and it gives you a break from your regular routine. It’s not an alternative to gymming but an alternative to cardio. It will increase your blood flow, keep your heart healthy.”
Elaborating on the changes he finds in himself after adopting the new regime, he adds, “After doing Dancercise, I have become very flexible. My waist has become smaller and has turned V like. Not only does it feel good but it keeps me healthy, fit and fine.”
Talking about sharing this new exercise way with his parents, he says, “I have advised dad to do adopt the Dancercise in his daily routine. Undoubtedly, it is not very easy for us to convince dad. But since the Dancercise CD had music along with it, I was able to convince dad easily. Dad always likes to lend his ears to anything musical with creativity.” On the other hand talking about his mom, he adds, “My mom is a simpleton. She gets convinced fast and surely she too will get going with it. I am more interested in both mom and dad taking it seriously merely because they will feel energetic and also be able to remain fit.”
About his future projects, Varun shares, “I also have a film with Karan Johar. I would like to do a movie, which is on dance. I also keep my fingers crossed for my future to keep shinning as bright as it kick started.”
