Prabhu in a heart to heart to rendezvous with Lipika Varma
Prabhudeva is now a personality to reckon with not only in the Southern Sector but also in the Bollywood industry. His plate seems to be full vide acting as well as directing.
How did you begin here in Bollywood?
Thanks to Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. I had also done songs for their film Roop Ki Rani, Pukar and Govinda Govinda. With Wanted there has been no looking back. Boney Kapoor is my Godfather without him I would have not been able to make it up here.
Did Sridevi also treat you with some hot “Rasam –Chora?
No, not like that I was not living with them in the same flat. I would definitely meet them off and on. I am residing in a rented house.
Will you work with Sridevi in future?
Why will I not like to take a chance working with Sridevi? She is a great actor. I have not signed any deal with Boney Kapoor but yes! Given a chance I would love to direct a film under their banner.”
How about Mr. India?
Oh! That’s a great film…smiles why not? I can try my hand!
So all set to buy a house in Mumbai?
Not yet…I am happy commuting up and down. I am not away from the Tollywood industry. Yes! While I have a film in Hindi film-dom I have to be here for it needs a lot of concentration, dedication and time too.
How was it working with Girish in Ramaiya Vatavaya?
He is a very dedicated actor. I remember he was very shy to perform a kissing scene. Kumar Taurani [his father] shouted from behind not once but thrice kiss…kiss and Kiss. This poor boy failed to do so. But then he smartly moved out of the camera and tried kissing by himself. The next shot was exuberantly performed by him.
Are you a producer’s directors or very expensive while shooting?
I am restricted to the script in true means. I do not like to make an expensive film when there is no need for it. Laughs and adds,” But Girish being the producers son he had his money bag open for all of us.
What is the film all about and why this title?
We have been acquainted to this title from a long time. It is a romantic film also Girish plays Ram. I can not disclose much about the film.
Why Shruti Hassan because eshe is from the South?
She fits the role and yes! She is our girl from the South. Shruti has done a wonderful job. Both Girish and Shruti will surely rock at the box office. Pleas watch the film.
