Salman Yusuf Khan’s own path of glory DC | Lipika Varma | 17th Sep 2013

Salman Yusuf Khan, who along with Drashti Dhami, won the dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 6', has come a long way in life. “I remember I would have to go to my engineering college with just Rs 50 in my pocket which would be insufficient to buy petrol for my bike,” he says, adding, “However lack of money never made me lose hope. It was at that point I choreographed a few shows. After that, choreography bug bit me and there was no looking back,” he says adding, “I have seen my share of ups and downs. During the show, when I could not do well I would try to work harder.”
About his partner, TV actress Drashti, he says, “I thank my partner Drashti Dhami for supporting me. Not only her but with Isha and others I have learnt to grow.”
“I am proud for having made it from ‘nobody’ to ‘somebody’. My friends and family members have stood by me through thick and thin and it was with their support that I made it big,” says the Bengaluru boy.
His namesake, actor Salman Khan, is his icon. “Whenever I have met Salman he has greeted me whole heartedly. I will be happy to choreograph for him on day. Inshaallah  that day comes soon,” he says.
Talking about working in the film industry, Salman says, “Frankly I have nothing much, but I will be choreographing a dance number for director Anubhav Sinha.”
