Kai Po Che star Sushant Singh
Rajput is ready for his next film,
Shudh Desi Romance, in which
he stars opposite newcomer
Vaani Kapoor and Parineeti
Chopra.
Talking about the film's concept,
Sushant says, "As youngsters
we crave for everything in life,
and no sooner do we achieve
them we realise that all the
challenges we were looking
forward to were merely what
our heart wanted."
Sushant adds, "My character is
already in love with Gayatri
(Vaani Kapoor), but while
pursuing my tourism profession,
I get infatuated with a beautiful
woman. I don't know whether
it's love or infatuation. What
happens next is the crux of the
film."
Talking about his real-life
girlfriend Ankita Lokhande being
dropped from a Shah Rukh Khan
film, he says, "Being offered a
role by SRK's banner is a
privilege in itself."
The actor is also quite upset
with rumours doing the rounds
that he is having an affair with
Anushka Sharma. "We are just
good friends. Belonging to the
same industry, whenever we
meet we have to greet one and
all," he explains.
Shudh Desi Romance is being
made by Yash Raj Film but
Sushant isn't ready to take on
YRF's poster boy Shah Rukh
Khan yet. "I don't think about
whether I will be a lucky charm
for Yash Raj Films like Shah Rukh
Khan. I only look forward to
working hard and making my
own identity in films. I, also feel
humbled to be working with
the YRF ."
