Laila Khan kidnapped?
A touch of glamour always finds its way into the criminal world. Laila Khan, who acted opposite Rajesh Khanna in Wafaa, has been in news since her car was discovered in Dal Lake in December last year. This car was linked to the Delhi High Court blast.
Recently, Laila’s father, Nadir Shah Patel, filed a complaint at a Mumbai police station stating that his daughter has gone missing along with her mother Saleena Patel, sister Azmina Patel, her stepfather Asif Sheikh and family friend Parvez Iqbal Tak.
Nadir, who lives in Mira Road with his second wife, told the cops that his daughter Laila, and several other members of his family, had been untraceable for several months. “I have written plenty of letters to government officials but to no avail,” said Nadir. Laila’s neighbours in Mumbai’s suburb said that the actress’s flat has been empty for a while.
The family was last seen in Kishtwar in July 2011 at Parvez’s wedding. They never returned to Mumbai, and a Mahindra Scorpio registered in Saleena’s name was found abandoned near Dal Lake on December 14, 2011. Jammu and Kashmir police’s deputy inspector-general Gareeb Dass said, “The vehicle could be an important link to the Delhi High Court blast case and was probably used in Delhi to carry out the blast.” Parvez, who allegedly has links with Lashkar-e-Tayyaba terrorists, was the last person to use the car.
Meanwhile, Laila’s father said, “I suspect that Parvez and Asif Sheikh have kidnapped Saleena, Laila and the rest of the family members. My family members cannot be involved in any terrorist activity.” Police claims that Laila has probably slipped into Pakistan by road and then moved on to Dubai from there.
