‘Why I hated Rajamouli...’

Ajay Devgn seems to be in awe with the films directed by S.S. Rajamouli, “I still remember when Singham released I was told that it was not doing well in the South. When I asked the distributor for the reason, he said, ‘Sir, because Rajamouli’s film Makkhi is creating a huge traffic jam at the box office’.”
“I guess I hated Rajamouli at that point of time,” Ajay says, adding, “And when I started doing Son Of Sardar, I was once again introduced to Rajamouli. Son of Sardar happens to be a remake of his film. It is then that I realised what a genius Rajamouli was.” The superstar, cannot stop praising the director. “By the way, I was asked by Rajamouli to dub a few lines for Makkhi. That was the time when we interacted at length. Even Kajol has dubbed a few lines.”
When asked whether he was open to remaking South films in Hindi, he says, “I have not decided anything at the moment. But we in Bollywood and Tollywood have been following this trend… Hindi films are sometimes made by South directors and even Hindi film- makers remake South films. So, if I come across any good films I will remake them.” About working in South Indian films, Ajay adds, “I am not good at the language. Thus, I will not be able to emote to the best of my abilities.”
