With colloquial Hindi terms becoming commonplace in Hindi cinema it shouldn’t come as a surprise that ‘Jhand’ a popular word in the North that means loss of face has now made it to a film title. National Award winning director Aman Sachdeva is making ‘Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi’. The comedy is an effort by Bejoy Nambiar and Ekta Kapoor who will produce the film jointly. The film stars debutant Siddharth Gupta who will be paired opposite Miss India Simran Kaur.

Bejoy says, “The director held a long audition process over several months. We were very clear about wanting fresh faces. Several youngsters were auditioned and I went to Balaji with the tapes. It took us around five odd months to decide on Siddharth. This is our third venture at Getaway Films and the first one that I am not directing. Aman (Sachdeva) makes his directorial feature debut and we couldn’t have asked for a better alliance than one with Balaji on our pet project.”
