This,
many experts say, will be her true comeback; after all it has been a long 17
years since she acted opposite Aamir Khan in 'Ghulam' and was immortalised in
the `Aati Kya Khandala' number.
“I am
comfortable working with Aamir now because I can at least look straight into
his eyes. Earlier I would look at his shoes; afraid that I would fall for him
if I made eye contact,“ says a smiling Rani.
“We
share a great bonding. We not only discuss aspects of film making but also
share personal talks. In the last 17 years, he has gone much further ahead
professionally and is a much bigger star today. He f is focused and with every
character that he portrays, he creates an undying impression on the audiences.“
About
her role in 'Talaash' she says, “I am doing a dark film for the first time. The
film is a suspense drama so disclosing even a bit might take away the suspense.
The character I play has many layers."
She's
worked with all the Khans - Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh and Saif Shah Rukh and
Saif -and has given super-hit films with them. “They are my seniors but all of
us have become close buddies. They have been my inspiration and I always take
the suggestions given by them.” We cannot help but ask her about the dismal
flop that 'Aiyyaa' was. “Actors are like any other professional employees. This
character was of a dreamer and I chose it because I liked it. But surprisingly,
audiences did not come to watch the film. But whoever watched the flick
appreciated my performance.
“No
actor likes a sad Friday. But then we need to go on. If we knew the answer to
what exactly appealed to the audiences then there would be no flop films.
Undoubtedly,
successful films give immense pleasure. I always carry a positive note with
every film and proceed to the next.”
