Fawad Afzal Khan Feels there is no difference back home in Pakistan as well in India on par with and geographical locations. .,” Yeah! Walking down the lanes here in India I felt all these lanes are so very look alike …Karachi lanes. The food relished by Indians and Pakistanis is very much similar to taste. I guess “VadaPav” here was utter delicious. I relished hogging Vada Pav” out here in Mumbai. “
Holding his breath for a while he adds,” Actually speaking we eat Bun Samaosa” in Pakistan Karachi, which is also very famous there. This dish could be compared to Vada Pav.rest of the food I found it to be tasting almost the same.”
Fawad had already been to Mumbai in 2008,” Ya! I had been to Mumbai in 2008.Infact I had come over to meet certain production house for work. However, things did not materialize then. But now doing Khubsoorat the love and respect I have got here makes me feel good. “
Working here in Bollywood- My first experience has been very good and I have had a lot of fun. Indeed we human beings work more for respect than money. I got a lot of respect and love. For me staying away from home makes me feel sick. I am a home loving person. I love to stay in and around with my family members. However, I do not like to live away from them. But being here in India- I did not feel as though I was away from home. They all here, treated me very well. Working for almost two to three months with almost new faces, never did I ever feel I was living with unknown faces. The love/respect and work that I have got here makes me feel proud, not only about the Bollywood Industry but the loving Indians too. India had become like a second home for me.”
Having fans in Pak and now here in India-I have enjoyed a good stint in Pak-Television. Undeniably, fans loving to watch us make us feel great. We all actors watt impatiently to hear Female good comments from them If I have more female fans …what can I say??…only it feels good. Being appreciated with limited body of work also brings along more expectations. I have to keep up to the expectations of my fans and the audiences as well. I also sometimes fear as though this feel may not be as good as the last one. For all us actors it is –“Appreciations needs to be balanced to their expectations too.
On garnering so much of Popularity- I definitely would credit the Pakistan television for making me a popular personality. I am recognized merely because of the love I have received from the audiences. I guess the kind of Global Village we are residing in, with the kind of availability, mediums like U’Tube, social net working sites as well as the “Web-sites…People who cannot move out from their house frequently, also get an opportunity to sit down at home and watch the latest happenings. This is indeed the privilege that we all are able to enjoy. This is all owing to the modern techniques which is developed to quite an extent. Word of mouth” publicity also enables audiences to be able to know about something great happening and they go ahead and watch it.
On getting the role … - Slight introduction was already done but when my serial was aired on the National Net work- I became known to many people. Back home , I thank my Country and my countrymen’s love, for the position they have bestowed upon me…Aaj jahan mein Khada hun…sb unki badaulat hi hai!.”[This position I have gained because them!!]
And getting acquainted to Sonam- I think, incidentally the casting director had watched my serials which were being aired; he had watched me-as I said everything is available on the U- Tube etc. He recommended me to the production house. And thereafter Sonam too watched me on the U-tube. After discussing with her they decided to talk to me. In fact after we talked it over, before even things were finalized, I had done two three readings from Pakistan itself. Next I flew down to India. After two/three meetings and sittings I was on the board. We wrapped the deal thereafter. Infact the whole process was very simple and straight forward.
On comparisons drawn from Old to new Khubsoorat. No, I was not given any instructions [Hidayat] old film Khubsoorat. But as home work I was told to just watch it…. so I did watch the film .Also then we can make comparisons to the ole’ film and the new script. As I had to perform here in Hindi film-dom. Well! How much is the ol d.Khoobsurat different to the new one …I can say -That was a family drama while the new “Khubsoorat” is more on the lines of romantic comedy. And I can only say I got the opportunity to watch a good yester year film Khubsoorat . This Khubsoorat is based on modernity and is a romantic film. While that one was a family drama flicks. The structure of that family is different.
On the Royal Princely look- The designer Raghuvendera Rathore has designed the clothes. The princely film…..I think relating to modern context during that whole process the designer who designed the clothes for me is associated to Royal scenario. Within a short discussions of half an hour interaction certain decision were carried. In such a globalized village today the temperament and the attitude of the people is changed immensely. Everyone has evolved. So accordingly this character it has Princely roots. He must have studied in a well known university. And must have interacted with many well known {Muktalif] personalities. Now a days, in the society we have all class That perception of the fact Royalty then used to be very different. However now everyone believes in openly interacting with each other. It is like an everyday person that we may come across. Having said that, “I felt while designing the character it is not too far like I would see…like it happened in “Sound Of Music” Julie Andrews also comes up and meets all the members. It is like the image of Christopher Plumber, which I am following. It, is an adaptation of classic and contemporary both.
Fawad says,” Here in India everyone especially while working for Khubsoorat on the sets I was not made to feel like I am a new comer. Also, surprisingly my female fans have multiplied here too. Who would not like all this pampering? I feel as though I belong to India and this film-industry only.”
Last but not the least Fawad confirms,” I have met a few production houses here. I am also keen on staying on Indian silver. We are in talks but nothing has yet finalized.”
Khubsoorat being a remake of the hit ’80s movie that starred Rekha and Rakesh Roshan,- The modern Khubsoorat stars Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan in the lead.
