Every day is like the last one for me: Ranveer Singh
After a serious bout of illness post Gunday, Ranveer Singh says that he lives every day as if it was his last. Also, the death of a close friend in America has been a sobering experience for the actor.
“I would at times get out of control. We never analyse ourselves. I never thought that my energies were high. I came to know after it was written about me. All my friends know me as a mad guy who keeps on doing weird things,” says the actor.
“I have only one life with only so many days in it. So for me every day is like the last one… I thus want to give every moment to that one thing I do,” he adds.
“While doing Lootera I broke my back. Lying in bed I kept thinking ‘If this happens often, I will never be able to do what I like to do — acting’. I believe in today, who knows if tomorrow will come. It was difficult for me to even stand at that juncture. I learned a lot from this accident.
“After suffering from dengue during Gunday, I was told by the doctor that I managed to fight the disease only because of my fitness. I was in a rock bottom situation where anything could have happened to me. I fought to stay alive.”
“My childhood best friend passed away recently, that was unbearable. I had thought we would get married and see our kids playing / growing together. He was my age…he committed suicide in America,” says Ranveer, adding, “Now I have learnt that aaj hai, kal nahi hai…anything can happen.
“Thus for me every day is my last day. If I am meeting my mom before leaving for a trip then I meet her as though that is the last day for me. I always think every movie is my last one… I do not know what the future has in store for me. So I live in the present. It is optimistic to hope that something will happen, but my optimism is that ‘I have it now and do the best’.”
