Mumbai: “There are so many great actors who belong to NSD… I would also like to introduce myself as: ‘Akshay Kumar…I belong to NANSD — Non Actor School of National School of Drama,” jokes Akshay Kumar.

One of the few superstars who did not have any “backings” in the film industry or any formal training when he started out, Akshay says, “I began from a very low level. It all started after I picked up a book on acting. I did not have any money to take admission in any acting school. I saw a book on ‘how to learn acting’.

“On the very first page of the book it was inscribed: ‘If you have to become a good actor, be a good human being!’ I did not have the Rs 175 to pay for the book, so I just read the first page of the book and kept it back in its place, confident that the phrase was enough to learn acting… And I have been acting till this day.”

The actor, who is playing himself in the film Shaukeens, says that he plays an alcoholic in the movie. “I am surprised why Tigmanshu Dhulia made me an alcoholic, I don’t drink in real life. But I enjoyed playing an alcoholic.

“I know of so many actors who get drunk pretending to have juice and a nariyalpani… which even I am portraying in Shaukeens.”

All praises for actress Lisa Haydon, Akshay says, “Lisa surprised me with her talent in the film. I was shocked by the way she performed. In the last scene she looks so beautiful while crying. I am happy for her, she has performed brilliantly.”

About promoting his films, he says, “Ab mein yahan kyun khada hoon? This is my film though I am only making a special appearance… and I shall always be there to promote it.” “All good things have happened to me ever since I have been in the filmi arena… I would be lying if I said otherwise,” he concludes.

I want to be like Hema malini...from Dc written by Lipika Varma

I want to be known like Hema Malini: Katrina Kaif

Her last movie “Dhoom:3” was a huge success globally and now she is back again but with a bang. Katrina Kaif is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming movie “Bang Bang!”. The actress says she wants to be known like Hema Malini in the film industry.
She says that she wants to keep her audience happy and entertain them.
In a recent interview, when asked about the number game in the industry, she said, “This is a very conspicuous statement; in fact all this matters only if your films taste success one after the other. The status changes with films. I am not bothered about the number game but I want to give my best to the audiences. I want to be known like Hema Malini; she is known for her fondness, being within the hearts of the audiences. Entertaining and keeping the audience happy is what I really care for.”
“We change not with success, but with times. As you grow, hopefully you change for the better. Having seen success you become less erratic, also you learn to appreciate quiet moments. It teaches you to balance everything and your priorities will not change with happiness. Also, with your films doing well, you start looking forward to being with your family and friends. You start to enjoy your holidays properly to reduce the work stress,” Katrina added.
“Bang Bang!” is the remake of Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz-starrer “Knight and Day”. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie features Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. He will essay Rajveer in the movie and Katrina plays his love interest Harleen. The movie will hit the screens on October 2.
