Waiting for secrets

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor these days is busy writing his autobiography and his son Ranbir can’t wait for it to come out.
Ranbir says that the book will deal with incidents in his father’s life, known to the public as well as unknown, which occurred during his time in the industry spanning over 60 years.
“Owing to my acting profession, I do read a lot of autobiographies of many interesting individuals. For example, I have been thoroughly inspired by the autobiography of famous actor Merlin Brando, 'Songs My Mother Taught me',” says Ranbir.
“Recently, I have read a few interesting books like 'The King of Aisle' and 'The Secret Life of Mark Reash'. The latter is the story of a man who was very corrupt. He had to flee to Europe from America and how he then changed his life,” he adds.
Talking more about his literary adventures, Ranbir says, “I have also read Steve Jobs and Barack Obama’s books to enhance my knowledge.”
“I am also reading 'My Wicked Ways', which is about Aril Finely, an actor in the 1930’s.”
Coming back to his father’s autobiography, Ranbir says, “I am waiting for my dad’s autobiography to be published. My dad is a very honest person. He speaks from his heart, which is why he can never manipulate statements.”
He further reveals, “I myself do not know much about his life, hence I am impatiently waiting to read it once it is out in the market. “
When asked whether he too will pen his life story one of these days, Ranbir says, “Every human being has his own way of looking at life. While some people are keen on bringing their life stories to readers, some do not want the public to know about their lives. I am a shy person. Also I do not know whether I will be able to relive or write my stories honestly. Undoubtedly I will never be able to disclose my secrets!”
