Page 3 columns these days are replete with stories about Salman Khan ready to tie the knot with Romanian actress Lulia Vantur. But since news about Salman getting married crops up almost every year, we take this one with a pinch of salt.
"I like to give some breaking news to journalists to feed their curiosity," says Salman. Ask him about the marriage news and he says, "It could possibly be true or not, so don’t take me seriously."
On Facebook too, he recently posted: "Now, I'm in a transit period and I like it. At the age of 15, I didn’t get to enjoy a transition. For the first time, I have a chance to sigh. I have been sighing since two and a half years. It’s time to stop sighing, because something is going to happen in my life, soon..." A lot to read between the lines there, one must admit.
"I follow Islam, Christianity, and humanity. My father is a Pathan, mother is a Hindu, second mother is a Catholic, and brother-in-law is a Punjabi. Wife? I am thinking of bringing her from outside," he jokes.
Often called a control freak when it comes to relationships, Salman defends himself: "When you are in a relationship, you try to ensure she doesn’t leave you. You try to be good. You give her the silent treatment. You yell, cry and when nothing works, you let her go." He, however, admits, "They (past girlfriends) were right about me. I haven’t been the most incredible boyfriend. I have heard this from ex-girlfriends that (I am) a great friend, but a miserable boyfriend."
