Mumbai: After the success of Aashiqui 2, Shraddha Kapoor is already making waves with the promos of Ek Villain. Talking about her role, she says, “I play a free spirited girl in the film. I always have positive energies and am like a rainbow between the hero and the villain. I keep making jokes and lighten the situation.”
Talking about how her life has changed after the success of Aashiqui 2, she says, “I have started getting good offers. But, I have to live up to the level of A2.”
About Sidharth Malhotra, opposite whom she has been cast in Ek Villain, she says, “I share a good equation with him. He is a calm guy who gets very involved with his work.”
Being given a chance to debut as a singer in a film she is acting in, she gladly said, “I had requested Mohit Suri to give me a chance to sing in Aashiqui 2 but I was denied the privilege. For Ek Villain, one day he told me: ‘The song Galliyan is being recorded and I want you to lend your voice. Can you come down to the studio?’ I must also thank Ankit Tiwari because he told the recordist not to mix my voice, I am so happy that no sound was mixed and matched with my voice. So you will get to hear my virgin voice,” she smiles. “Music runs in my family. I am brushing up my singing talent and doing enough riyaaz to maintain good vocals.”
The actress, stating her father’s image in the industry, exclaims, “No one was ever scared of my dad even though he played the villain in many films. Instead, all my friends, during my childhood days, would love to come over to my house and take his autograph. I personally loved to see him getting bashed and also bashing others.”
“Dad is a very hard working man. I have learnt to work hard from him. He is my inspiration. He worked hard for every role; it was not easy for him.”
Being candid on her relationship with her peers, she expresses, “This generation represents itself very differently. We are all fun-loving kids. Alia, Parineeti, Aditya, Sidharth, Varun and I hang out at parties together. We are all friends. Parineeti loves to dance, so both of us dance to our hearts content. Unlike the earlier trend where peers from the industry were not so friendly, we are all praises for each other’s work. Alia and Parineeti’s films touch `100 crore, isn’t that amazing? We belong to a changed industry where we are not jealous or insecure.”
