Rani discloses openly to media about the change in her name, about Aditya her hubby, her role in YRF, and her friend Preity.Rani looked ravishing, elegant and beautiful during her firs media appearance in open after having tied the knot to the bollywood biggest notch Aditya Chopra. The first look [Promos] of her film Mardaani” will also mark the first ever genre from the Yash Raj Productions – saw the dawn in Rani’s presence.
Rani enthusiastically talks about her role in “Mardaani.”,” I was born as a “Mardaani.” women are descendant of shakti aur yehi shakti pradrshan hai film mein. My name is Rani…I have grown up hearing stories about the patriot,” Jhansi ki Rani,” from my dad.All the women folks from my family have been the source of my inspiration. My mother has been the strongest woman who has inspired me right from my childhood. My first film Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat had a strong message for women folk. Similarly my character of Crime Branch officer Shivani Baji roy will bring a strong message to the girls and all the woman police officers. In real life female police officers have been stronger than many men Police officials. But their worth has never come up to the fore-front. Through this film we are trying to impart great message to all girls who need to face the trial and tribulation situation which occur in their life.”
Adding more she says,” Indeed through the typical action sequences the girls will also know that it is not essential to by physically strong. However, I opine that Marshall Arts needs to be taught to boys/girls at the School level. While taking the real notes I could realize how strong these police women are…at an instance one of them taught me how to slap…I was shocked to note that it was indeed a “Resounding slap.”
Depriving the Indians to be able to grace the occasion of their marriage excusing her and putting the blame of Addi Rani smartly evaded the query….” Look! Dear , I was not even married then.then. Addi had told me that he has made arrangements of our wedding in Italy. To being his other half, I had to obey him .And thus blindly followed him to be wedded in Italy. He and his family had made arrangements for the occasion. I simply, like an obedient wife had no choice but to agree to all what Addi wanted me to do. She smiles and add,” Mujhe apni shaadi bhi toh bachani thin a!!”[I had to save my marriage]
Rani intelligently clears the confusion on her usage of Rani Mukherjee and Mrs Rani Chopra,” Definitely, I am known to my fans as Rani and I shall continue with this name on celluloid. Also I love my parents very much and so I will keep this name for my films. Obviously, I am married now and will definitely have children. So when my children are admitted to school my maternal name can not be used. So for all official purposes I will use Mrs Rani Chopra.
Refuting rumors of Rani turning the creative head of YRF she quips,” Well! Addi has been managing the production house in an exuberant and meticulous manner. There are many capable people who have been taking care of the production house.house. Aditya tops the helm of the YRF banner did so not require any additional help. But definitely belonging to the creative filed and having spent so many years in films, if at all I am asked to read some script or any other creative job undeniably I am always there. It will be nothing concrete but in a way all informal jobs. Undoubtedly I have to handle everything on par with management of the house-hold affairs….I am happy handling my daily kitchen and other affairs’ am indeed contented to be the Kitchen King ….Errr…..Queen!!”
Like the life saver wife about Aditya being reclusive to one and all she said,” Yes! Aadi has always had a personal reservation to be seen more frequently. We do go out together but we are not keen on making it public. And as long as he is solely with me I would love it[smiles] Undeniably, marriage to me who is an actor does not entitle him to change to media savvy person. He has always preferred to maintain his privacy. I am happy about the way he is!!
Last but not the least giving away a secret that she shared with Preity Zinta…. Rani Quips,” Preity has been a strong woman .She can defy difficult times.She has been my colleague and we have shared the same screen space for few films. I remember she would always says,” Rani hum dona saath saath shaadi karenge!![We will get married together] However in this space I beat her up to that……I am one up to her!! Nonetheless I wish her all the best and hope she too settles down soon and enjoys a good life in her future.”
