Priyanka Chopra acts pricey? Charges fortune for NYE performance
Owner and organizer of the event, Amit Mehatani clarifies that the reports are inflated
After globe trotting and going international, it seems like
actress Priyanka Chopra has set her eyes on the Southern industry. This
New Year’s eve she has consented to sizzle and perform on her own medley
numbers from her films at Park Hyatt Chennai. But rumours are floating
around that she does not come cheap and is charging an exorbitant amount
to the tune of 5 crore!
Confirming the same, Amit Mehatani, owner and developer of Park Hyatt shared, “We zeroed on Priyanka merely for we have heard about her professionalism and we are in awe of her. She is herself designing her medley numbers for which she has put in a rigorous amount of rehearsals. We were mesmerized to notice- for she would like to work on every minutest detail. The choreographer Swaroop will be handling the whole show for the New Year’s eve 2014.” All praises for Priyanka, Mehatani quips, “Visualizing Priyanka’s work ethics and her global appeal it has been an absolute pleasure for us to have a diva like her performing for us this New Year eve.”
On being asked whether she charging an exorbitant amount of 5crore for a 6 to 7 minute performance? He replied, “Well! I would not be able to give away the exact quotation on par with her payments. However, she is not charging 5crore for six minutes or so. But I can say that the media reports is a figment of someone’s over rated statement. Also, it is not that she is performing just for six or seven minutes. With good amount of medley numbers, she will definitely bring a smile on the faces of people. Undoubtedly, she will be performing for at-least 15 minutes or so.” And added, “She has one or two exits during her performances while others will perform on the stage.” Priyanka remained unavailable for comment though.
