Meet the ‘Meet Brothers’
The singing siblings shed light on their Bollywood musical journey

Shedding light on the popularity of Bollywood number, they share, “In today’s times songs do not get easily hummable before the film releases. After the film releases and, only if the the film turns out to be a hit, then the songs are loved by the audiences.”
Speaking about giving music for ‘Boss’, they quip, “Sometimes stars also like to perform on certain lyrics, so we try to add it to the music. Something, which may allure the audiences, should however be included. We have added the lyrics ‘pode, pode’ merely because it is very catchy. In other words such numbers have a mass appeal.” On ‘Boss’ numbers gaining popularity, the say, “The songs of ‘Boss’ has come out in the market for merely a month’s time but they have already got almost two million hits.”
On pop singers having very less chance in today’s musical domain they added, “Actually, the songs turn to be great hits with stars. People love to watch their favorite stars on certain numbers and they start liking songs only because it has been pictured on their favourite actors. Therefore pop singers have fewer opportunities.”
Talking about the tightrope of getting everyone’s approval, they share, “The most frustrated lot is the pop singers. Today we need to get approval from producers, heroes and heroines. After satisfying one and all, we are left unsatisfied. We have not earned enough money; this is our choice.” And add, “We get limited budget and have to give the best within this given budget. When we decided to get Sonu Nigam to sing the fatherly number for ‘Boss’, we realized that he is an expensive singer. We cannot compromise with our quality, but we were lucky enough as Sonu decided to do it for free of cost merely because the song was for dad. And Sonu had an emotional bonding with his own dad.” Looks like the duo can go to any lengths to produce
good quality music and surely have a long way to go in Bollywood.
