Dimple Kapadia’s grumpy avatar
Her distorted posters in ‘What The Fish’ do not ruffle the veteran actress

“I do not think my posters are
distorted. All I can say is that they have turned this Bobby to Bobba
and now they will turn her to Bobbadda,” she smiles while sharing.
Playing the grumpy woman, Sudha Mishra in her latest venture ‘What The Fish’, she feels, “I indeed love to imbibe the energies and the freshness of the changes that we see in the craft of filmmaking. The present film makers belong to a different school of thought, they are extremely passionate and committed about the performances as well as doing their jobs with perfection.”
On choosing comic characters she says, “I do not like to watch intense, serious kind of films. I love to watch comedy and so I chose to perform this role and I am Mishti’s choice!”
Reminiscing her debut film with Late Shri Raj Kapoor she says, “‘Bobby’ being my first film, I was very nervous. Until today whenever I face the camera I turn nervous. But I feel Raj Kapoor is one of my favorite directors with due respect to all the other directors with whom I have worked with. I feel that no director can match Raj Kapoor ji.” And added, “He was fifty plus then. I was barely 16 years, but I remember as director he would walk, and also give me the tone for the dialogues. All I had to do is just copy him blindly. I must confess that being fifty he had the right connotation and feel of the sixteen years girl. His imagination of bringing alive such a beautiful romantic story indeed feels great.”
Jokingly she adds, “I can also perform action oriented characters exuberantly because I am Akshay Kumar’s mother-in law. I have already played his mother on reel, what more do you guys expect me to play, his grandmother? And shares, “He is a great son-in-law for me. So undeniably, I like him as my real son-in-law!”
‘What The Fish’ being directed by Gurmmeet Singh, is co-produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and the film is set to release on December 13, 2013.
