Jiah’s Thousand Lies

Director Teja regrets having missed the opportunity to cast the actress for his upcoming film
Actress Jiah Khan debuted with Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Nishabd’. She reportedly hung herself in her Juhu flat where she was residing with her mom. Reports reveal she had missed on a Telugu film titled, ‘Thousand Lies’ being directed by well-known director Teja.
Confirming the news Teja quips, “My film ‘Thousand Lies’ is complete and will be releasing on June 15. Yes! I was looking for a beautiful girl like Jiah to play the lead role in the film but I did not audition her. However, I stayed in Mumbai for almost a week, this was six months prior to her demise. But the lady manager did not give me an opportunity to even meet Jiah.” Venting his frustration at having missed the opportunity, he adds, “Sometimes the managers don’t understand what they need to do. What I feel is that the celebs need not depend on the managers all the time. They should also be able to decide for themselves and keep a track on their managers. Also, I feel the upcoming stars should be accessible in terms of at least talking on the phone.”
However, this may not be the first case of depriving an actor of a fetching offer. “Jiah was my first choice as my story reveals how an ugly man tries to trap a beautiful woman by entrapping her with his thousand lies. Yes! It is a story about the beauty and the beast,” shares the filmmaker and regrets that his wish of casting Jiah will never be fulfilled.
