Abhishek Bachchan: ‘Dad was shown the promos first’

Abhishek Bachchan attended the very first promotion of his upcoming film 'Dhoom 3' with his left hand in a cast.
“I injured myself while working out and ended up having a torn tendon in my elbow. However, I have not taken a break from working and gym,” he says.
“But I do not wear it while Aradhya is around… I wear it only when I have to go out as a precautionary measure,” adds the doting father.
About his father, Amitabh Bachchan’s reactions to the promos of the film, Abhishek says, “Yes. Dad was shown the promos first. Adi is probably continuing the tradition that Yash Uncle had started. He too showed the earlier 'Dhoom' trailers to dad. Keeping that in mind, Adi showed it to dad before anyone else. It was indeed great to get positive response from dad.” He adds, “The promos are awesome!”
Though
the previous two Dhoom movies had been super-hits, the makers are
expecting more from 'Dhoom 3' — scheduled for a December 20 release —
because of Aamir Khan’s presence. Talking about Aamir, Abhishek says,
“The very first time when Aamir called me on my mobile phone, he just
continued talking. ‘Hey… the script of D-3 feels great. I am sure it is
going to be great and we will enjoy sharing screen space.’ I did not
have a clue what Aamir was talking about, but went along with him. I
hadn’t even read the script. But seeing Aamir’s enthusiasm, I did not
want to let him down. I was sure about what he was saying even though I
had not read the script.”
Talking about Aamir’s humbleness, Abhishek adds, “I have learnt so many things from Aamir. Before a take or during discussions, he very humbly asks, ‘Aisa theek lag raha hai na?’ He tries to bring to your notice whatever we would be doing before going for the take. I like his confidence and also the fact that he makes everyone else around him confident.”
Abhishek’s character is the same in 'Dhoom 3' as it was in the earlier two movies. “I have not been promoted; I play the same police officer,” he jokes, adding, “Maybe in the next 'Dhoom', I will get promoted to DCP.”
