Priyanka
Chopra’s former boyfriend Aseem Merchant will be making a biopic on the
actress’ ex-manager Prakash Jaju who had spent over two months in jail
on allegations of cheating Priyanka.“I
am not making the biopic out of spite, it’s just that I found his
(Jaju’s) journey worth bringing to life on celluloid. The film will have
the celeb back drop of Bollywood, but all in all it is the experience
of his 67 days in jail,” says Aseem.
“Our
production house Limelight Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd focuses on making
biopics of controversial people. We were on the look out for one such
tale. I am lucky to have been in touch with Prakash Jaju who was
managing the accounts for Priyanka. We will be showcasing the underbelly
of the world of glitz and glamour. Our protagonist is Prakash Jaju and
the story will begin from the day he entered jail,” he adds.
Stating
that they are looking for the right actors to play Jaju and his wife,
Aseem says, “His wife supported him during his bad days. We are having
innumerable sitting sessions with Jaju so that the manuscript is put
forth in a reality format.”When
asked whether the film would showcase the fact that Priyanka Chopra had
signed the FIR register publicly which was revealed in the media, Aseem
says, “Yes, of course. We have the FIR filed by the late Dr Ashok
Chopra. We have also collected the television bytes which will be part
of our film.”
Prakash Jaju, who has been
paid Rs 2 crore for the biopic, says, “How can I forget those torturous
days when I was yelling to get paid for the dues Priyanka Chopra owed
me…
“I was more shocked when the late Dr Ashok Chopra filed
an FIR stating that I was troubling his daughter on a personal level. I
was one manager who never visited her sets.”
