Mother and child bond is special’
For Kajol, putting her career on the backburner for motherhood was a no-brainer and she strives to be the best mother for her daughter Nysa and son Yug.
Her love for children has also pushed her to support her family doctor, Dr Avasthi, who has opened the first NICU (Natal Intense Care Unit) in Mumbai for prematurely born newborns.
“I have always been vocal about the fact that a mother and child’s bonding is special. Running after my kids, especially my son, wasn’t only a physical stress but a mental stress as well. There’s a lot of bhaag daud one has to do to bring up kids, and us mothers do this happily,” she says.
“I too, as every working mom, decided to allow my profession to take a back seat merely because I had to give them time. As children they need proper upbringing. We cannot deprive our children of the privileges that they need at that tender age.”
Now that her kids are growing up, Kajol plans to produce films under her home banner. “As confirmed earlier, we will be producing films. We will start in July or August.”
