Sunny Leone recalls her journey in Bollywood, love for reality shows and Rajasthan city while giving tips on romance. She also talks about her loving husband and more in a brief chit-chat with Lipika Varma

Sunny Leone is certainly Indian at heart. She is surprised the unexpected success her movie Ragini MMS received.

"Yes! Life for me has surely changed after the success of Ragini MMS. It was totally unexpected. I wonder how my very first film in Bollywood has brought so much of happiness into my life. I have been indeed blessed that’s all I can say. I have got a great reception in the B’Town. It was amazing to note that the tickets at the box office sold so very quickly. After the first release, there has been no looking back for me. I am sure I have possibly bagged Splitsvilla MTV show season- 7 also because of the recognition I have received here...it is amazing indeed.”

On changes in herself she adds,”I am always the same. I have been watching MTV from my childhood days. I would then wonder if I could be a part of the channel. MTV has been here for generations together. The youth as well as kids are attracted to the shows merely because most of the shows on the channel are undoubtedly presented with a pinch of difference as well encompassed with reality. After watching me during my promotional activities for Ragini MMS, the head honchos noticed me while I had a chance to do a dance number with Karan Mehra, watching me therein, the head honchos have now bestowed upon me a chance …and here I am hosting Splitsvilla season 7.I have been attracted to the MTV for a long time now.”

Sunny offers tips to girls who are being wooed by men. She says,”In the show I have asked the girls to be honest in front of the cameras. The viewers have become very smart they instantly catch if at all you are pretentious. I also tell them to increase their communication with their partners; there should not be any communication gap. They need to remain connected. They need to talk to them. Also in life if they want to become something if they have to hone their communication skills they can manage a better life ahead. One needs to be honest while in romance.”

Having shot in Rajasthan for the programme, Sunny is in love with the city…”You are right! Absolutely a lovely city. The Summer Palace is really beautiful. I had a feeling as though I was living in the Palace as a, 'Rajkumari'. The rooms therein are so beautifully carved and the suites have the real palatial look. I also visited different historical places and enjoyed my stay in Rajasthan.“

Quiz her on food and she says,”I love variety. I love to relish anything and everything, but did not get a chance to relish the delicious Rajasthani delicacies like Dal-Batti.

Sunny does not like cooking but cooks for her beloved husband. ”I cook all the easy dishes like Pasta, Pizzas etc for him. I am lucky that he loves me a lot. On my birthdays he always surprises me. Early in the morning when the bell rings – No sooner do I open the doors I receive a bouquet of flower. While we were dating each other even then he would bring my favorite chocolates and brownies and till date he has not changed. His love for me after six years is the same and he too is the same I am so lucky man! Let media write silly things about my relationship with my husband. I know how much he loves me,” she beams.

Last but not the least, Sunny is all excited to be hosting Splitsvilla Season7 on MTV. ”After having done all the mad things on Bigg boss. I am now looking forward to hosting this show,” she signs off.

Sunny Leone
From “pornstar-turned-actress”, she is simply referred to as “actress” these days. And Sunny Leone has to thank 2014 for that as she managed to firmly entrench herself in Bollywood during the year.
The actress, who will ring in the New Year in Hyderabad, is happy with her Bollywood journey so far. Talking about her upcoming film, One Night Stand, directed by debutante Jasmine D’Souza, she says, “This is not the first female director I am working with… before Jasmine, I worked with Pooja Bhatt for my debut film Jism 2. I am very comfortable working with female directors. It was great working with Jasmine for One Night Stand.”
About working opposite actor Tanuj Virwani in the film she says, “On the first day, Tanuj and I sat quietly on the sets…I don’t like to intimidate anybody. However, the second day onwards we became friends as we started to get to know each other. We have wrapped up our first schedule and I could be shooting for the film next month as well. “This year has been great for me. Ragini MMS and Baby Doll were the most happening things for me during 2014. I am proud of the fact that Baby Doll was liked by adults as well as the youth.
“It is also a great feeling that the nation has accepted me,” she adds.  Over the months, she has also built a great relationship with Tollywood. “It feels great working with people in Hyderabad,” she says, adding, “Also the kind of reception I got here, not only in the industry, but also from the crowds, has been heartwarming.
Therefore, I chose to celebrate the New Year with the wonderful people of Hyderabad… Let’s have fun and enjoy this New Year together,” she says, With New Year around the corner, the actress also has some special tips for men who want to impress their special someone, “Men need to dress up to impress. Also, they need to smell good,” she smiles. She also has some safety tips for girls, “Always stay in groups during New Year parties.”

Poonam Pandey, who shot extensively in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam for her trilingual film Malini & Co, is upbeat about the film’s prospects.
“I had been getting many offers from T’town, but I was waiting for a performance-oriented character. And when director Veeru K. narrated the story I immediately agreed to play Malini.
“I play a masseuse, but there are some  ‘terror’ angles too… It’s not all about skin show and  I was very happy to have been offered the role,” says Poonam.
“I do not want to stand on roof tops and yell ‘Poonam is more than an item girl’, but I believe my performance will prove that to the audience,” she adds.
Talking about the director, Poonam says, “Veeru is a quick director. He does his job well. Unlike other directors he would not sit and waste time. He would immediately set up the camera and start shooting.
“We would complete six to seven scenes in a day. He also praised my performance and said ‘I have never seen such a dedicated actress’.”
Poonam further adds, “Once, after performing an emotional scene, Veeru came up to me with tears in his eyes. He told me that the scene had touched his heart… What more could I want? I only want people to  watch the film and then judge me.”
her own admission, Poonam loves Hyderabad, she says. “I got to shop a lot near Charminar and I also got to eat Hyderabadi biryani.
“Unlike Mumbaikars who have busy schedules and have no time for others, Hyderabadis bring in a lot of happiness with the kind of love they have. People here are very humble and they have no egos at all,” Poonam says.
Poonam adds, “We also shot in Visakhapatnam, Kanchanbhuri, Bangkok and Thailand apart from Hyderabad. Film kab shuru hui aur kab khatam hui pata bhi nahi chala.”
