Shahrukh Khan promotes love and respect for parents giving his piece of mind to the youth of today at the launch of Ekees Topoan ki salami which has a tale showing respect to parents by fulfilling their wish….,” he said,” I would definitely say that parents would not look forward for any kind of a salami from their kids. Indeed they would look forward -the respect and the love which their children could give them think about their well- being. That’s what parents would look for.”
Gratifying experience as father,” My wish for three children that I have now is- for their good health. Most gratifying experience of mine is indeed a simple and a small one –At the end of the day or night the stress that we all undergo…we would love to lie down in the middle of them. Feel the touch of their soft body and watch some silly channel programme along with them.But the most gratifying thing is giving you a hug and sometimes when your leaving home they kind of feel bad that you’re going to work leaving them behind. They miss you and that’s the most gratifying experience. I think …I did tweet also once ….teach your boys…I have two sons.sons. Ghar Aao toh ghar aane mein shrmindagi na ho… jahe apne jo bhi kiya ho.
On a lighter note he said,” My parent’s advice given to me,” Janwaraon se hamesha pyaar krna …. woh baat meine dil ko le li .Woh baat mujhe bahut fyada de rahi hai… bahut log miltey hai mein unhe vaise he treat krta hun….. My parents advised me to love the animals always.I have taken their advice to my heart.I meet so many beings…I always treat them likewise.”
On the standard of comedy he says,”Apni pasand tarika,apni kala ko dikhaney ka hota hai. Every film maker has their own way of showing their tale on screen. It is their taste. It is done on par with theatrical manner. It is important to entertain the audiences with their way of comic, satire or black comedy. Every film maker tries to appease every individual. The audiences should take back something more than an empty pack of Popcorn. Every film maker try their best but at times we may fail to choose do so, we creative people do try to appease every individual.”
Lastly he distastefully refreshes the experience having shook a leg with a woman police officer recently in Kolkatta for which he faced a ruffle…clearing the air he said,” From many years we performers have been entertaining our jawans and other people in uniform I remover while I was shooting for Veerzara I danced with the Jawans.In Mumbai I have done that to entertain the people in uniform. I say this ruffle was merely because of the distinction between a a man and a woman. This I consider to be silly and rubbish.”

Mumbai: Rani Mukherjee may be playing a Mardaani in her upcoming film, but in real life she is a woman with a kind heart. And despite being married to one of the first families of Bollywood, the actress has no airs.

Same old Rani

The first thing that comes across during the interview is that Rani hasn’t changed at all after marriage. During her first media interaction since marrying Aditya Chopra, Rani seems excited. One reason is, of course, her recent marriage, and the other is Mardaani.

“You had been saying that I had got married since long before I actually did. And before I become a mother you will be saying that I have already given birth…” she jests, adding that she definitely wants to become a mother.

“Marriage has not changed anything. I started working at the age of 17 and I can’t stop working now. And I don’t think Adi will want me to slow down. If I am pregnant, and if at all any director is willing to work with me in that condition, I will definitely work till the day I can work. But if I have kids I will certainly take a break. I don’t want to deprive my kids the time they need.”

On hubby dear

All praises for Adi, Rani says, “My husband Aditya Chopra is understanding as he is a producer and director himself. He is a creative filmmaker and he is not narrow-minded. If the script demands and I am correct for the role, he will let me do it and I don’t have any inhibitions too. He won’t come and check my scripts as to what my role is, who is directing the film and what kind of scenes I am going to do. He is too busy with his work and he has no time for all this.”

About Adi’s love for food, she says, “Like Yash uncle Aditya too loves food. It’s a big challenge to keep him happy as he’s a combination of a very strict and lenient husband. On one hand, he feeds me and on the other hand, he wants me to be fit. I found a man who is very compassionate, very kind, very fair. He’s also a very good human being and that was the most important criteria for me.”

“I have been in this industry for so many years and I have seen the good and the bad. I always thought that I was a good human being, but Adi, I must confess, is much better than me.

“He extends all the support to me and in return, I stand by him when he needs me. He’s a man who doesn’t want his wife to come home and cook. Everybody needs that space. He needs an independent woman.”

Aditya Chopra usually stays away from the limelight. Explaining his love to be anonymous, Rani says, “He loves to be mysterious and his biggest dilemma is he is married to an actress. After getting married to me his earlier photos with moustaches, without moustaches, were being publicised and he said ‘this is because I am married to an actress’.

“I think his reason to be anonymous is that he wants to keep in touch with reality and lead a normal life. Once he’s in the limelight, his sense of being connected will go away.”

“When we want to meet friends we go out. Otherwise we prefer to stay at home, having dinner and talking to each other… I can’t force him (to go out) because my fans want to see him. I respect him because of that. More than anything else, I love him because he is not mysterious to me (laughs).”

Mumbai: Unlike Bollywood, where newcomers really have to struggle to get a break, in television it’s the established stars who find it difficult to get lead roles because when it comes to soaps, producers and directors always prefer to go with new faces. In order to tackle their short reign, many actors are turning producers.

Ashish Sharma, the male lead of the hit show Rangrasiya, is one of the hottest men on small screen, but instead of basking in his success, he is branching out to producing serials.

Ashish, who even directs a few parts of his own show to gain experience, says, “Yes, I have been directing a few episodes with the permission of my director. Apart from this, I have also produced a Rajasthani serial.”

He says that he enjoys acting, directing and producing and believes that it helps one become a better actor when one is familiar with the technical nuances that go on behind the camera.

Before Rangrasiya, Aashish didn’t enjoy super star status as an actor on TV, but he was busy directing and producing shows. “I have directed a digital show on MTV called Saturday Nights,” he says, adding, “I am also producing a Rajasthani film, Chore Tera Gaon Bada Pyara. The story is from a girl’s point of view.”

Another actor who has turned producer is Bhairavi Raichura, best known for her role as Kajal Bhai in Hum Paanch. She is currently producing the show Laut Aao Trisha.

While she continued with her acting career, Bhairavi decided to turn producer with a friend. “My first show Chhal Sheh Aur Maat was not a hit but I was happy with my decision to turn producer,” she says.

Bhairavi, however, admits that acting is much easier. “As an actor you just do your scenes, go home and relax. But as a producer you have to look into every minute detail of the show. Right from the script to actors to finances, you have to be involved with everything.”

Actor Prinal Oberoi too has been bitten by the production bug. Known for her role as Kaira in the show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha, Prinal says that she has been multitasking for six months. “My husband, actor Pankaj Bhuveneshvar Singh, is a producer too, so after marriage I also got involved in production. My job is to get sponsors for our shows.”

Prinal admits that she loves acting more and is a co-producer only because of her husband. “My husband produces plays and TV shows, so I am privileged to get the opportunity to learn different aspects of my trade, like pre-production work, which is the toughest.”

Prinal is enjoying her stint as co-producer but she will be back in front of the camera in Pyaar Ka Dard...

Sachin Parekh, yet another actor-turned-producer is enjoying production too. His interest in producing shows was ignited when he was cast in the 2005 Hindi film Kaafila, which starred Sunny Deol. “We shot all over the place for this film. Locations included Russia, Bulgaria, Afghanistan and Ladakh. I was very curious to know how the production team handled all the challenges that came with working in multiple locations. From then on I started taking a serious interest and in 2009 I started my own theater production company.”

The actor has produced three Hindi plays with a star cast that included veterans like Padmini Kolhapure, Anjan Srivastava and Himani Shivpuri. “Unlike Gujarati plays where audiences don’t mind coming to see newcomers, for Hindi plays we need big names. It’s challenging. Returns don’t always match the amount we have to spend on the productions,” he says. But the actor continues to produce and direct plays because of the creative satisfaction he gets.

Undeniably this starlet worships her work,”” Well! Work is worship for me. It’s nothing like working hard, it is my passion and whatever I have in hand I need to put in my best..”
How many hours of hard work in a day? Priyanka smiles and says, “Ninety-nine hours of hard work in a day!” We ponder over this numeric….well this seems to be a mathematical calculation…probably it must be out of a hundred.
Ask her and how many years did she work to get all this…From the time I started I am there and going on…. My success mantra is just working and working.
Where does her confidence come from? For being a strong individual,” Comparing her confidence to her latest real character of Mary-Kom she says,” Whenever I do any character in a film I get inspired from that. I live that character. Every film is a Mughal-E Azam for me.
Giving an insight to her mantra of being successful she adds,”,” Performing every character with the best of my abilities and capabilities, I have been moving ahead. Like Mary Kom, we have a lot of similarities we are two strong women, I too belong to a small town. Our upbringing too has been similar. Yes, we two women have resolved in this male dominated scenario. Her life is not only an inspiration for me but for every young person.”
Lastly, “I do crave to do a character or a film which is close to my heart. Also any good woman oriented topics too allure me. However, comparing the female actors remuneration to that of our Bollywood male…Haanji I have always said,” There is disparity!” But it’s not that if women are paid they will not be happy??

During the song launch of O Fanny Re for the film Finding Fanny, Deepika Padukone spoke about how she came about doing the film,"When we were shooting for Cocktail, Director Homi Adjanaia asked me if I would like to do a film with him. Later, he narrated the story and I liked the character, so I readily accepted it. More than anything it was the vision of the director, who kept me in mind for the role. And after I started shooting, I was more convinced that the role and the film were interesting as well as different. When you start believing in your director the outcome is always brilliant,” she says.
“Actually, I did not think too much about Finding Fanny. I just liked the role and the film and went ahead with it,” adds Deepika.
“I did find it a little difficult to perform this character initially as it is in English. This is what was challenging for me. But gradually we all got a hang of the subject and thus enjoyed the film,” she says.
With Ranveer Singh doing a cameo in the film, has Deepika returned the favour and done a cameo in Ranveer’s Dil Dhadakne Do? Deepika instantly replies, “I do not do ‘cameos’ and I did not have to convince Homi to give Ranveer a cameo role in Finding Fanny.”
Ranveer, of course,enjoyed doing a cameo without an iota of complain for a half-day shoot, he spent 10 days on the sets of Finding Fanny.
