Pakistani actress, Veena Malik does not believe in being compared to porn star Sunny Leone and believes in making her own mark in Bollywood. But at the end of the day she wants to opt for a nice, Muslim man as her husband as she does not believe in the success of inter-caste marriage.

“How can one compare me with a porn star. I am an actress and am talented. I have been here for a short span of two years and the reception I have received from Bollywood is indeed quite good,” shares Veena.

Veena says that she has fallen in love not once but many a times and is also responsible for the break ups. “I have had my share of break ups. It would not be too much to say that I have always ditched men. I am the one who has broken up with all my boy friends. Undoubtedly, I have insecure feelings. I somehow after being friendly to them feel that this guy is unsuitable for me. I want a man to be honest and love me whole heartedly,” shares Veena.

Belonging from Pakistan, when questioned will she settle down with any Hindu guy, she answers blushing, “I have not been travelling with a burqa on. Being independent I do agree that I take my own decision. But belonging to Muslim religion I will surely like to get married to a Muslim.
Actually it is always safe to belong to the religion and traditions you follow even after marriage. Inter-cast marriages can ruin my married life.” And adds, “I believe in the institution of marriage. Also, I have seen my family members enjoying a blissful married life. I too would love to belong to the man forever after getting married.”

So, when questioned whether she split up with Ashmit Patel merely because he was not a Muslim? She replied, “Well! It is all now a past. So I do not want to discuss anything about it.”

When questioned when Veena will get married, she says, “I am keeping my fingers crossed and am all set to tie the knot sometime in 2015. Will it be a Sheikh or someone from Dubai? Well, I am not sure myself but yes I am contemplating to get married to a Muslim. I have been living in Dubai for many years now. So could be someone from Dubai.”

Kareena Kapoor got nostalgic while shooting for Punit Malhotra’s ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ with Imran Khan in Bhuj, Gujarat as it brought back memories of her debut film, ‘Refugee’. She also confesses that she chose to do the film as it is set in a village atmosphere.
She shares, “Yes, when Puneet told me that we were going to shoot in Bhuj for our film ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’, I felt very happy as I had shot for my first film ‘Refugee’ out there. I took Puneet and the entire team to places where we would relish our food. Especially to a happening restaurant named Prince.” And added, “I had relished delicious food here even with Abhishek Bachchan while shooting for ‘Refugee’. Living in and around the same area where we lived during my debut film literally turned me nostalgic and I was very happy indeed.”
Highlighting the changes in Bhuj city she quips, “I have noticed a wide development in this city of Bhuj. Earlier there were just one flight to commute but now the flights have increased. The entire market areas have developed. All of us are aware of the fact that Gujarat has progressed tremendously. The city has experienced an overall development. It was indeed a treat to shoot out there.”
Coming back to the film, she shares, “I really felt nice when I was made to realise that the second half of the film is totally based on the rural India. In fact, I chose to do the film merely because it is based on the village atmosphere.” Adding about her love for villages, she reveals, “I love the kind of environment we witness in the villages unlike the urban India. I find the people in the villages are yet very innocent; they have a large heart and are always ready to help each other. They are indeed charming and also cherish the simpler joys in life.”
All praises for the film she says, “It is an entertaining film. It has lovely song numbers with a happening music. Everything the audience expects in a film will be there and especially they will love the village part. What more would people want? While they spend such an exorbitant amount for their tickets and if their experience is entertaining, I am sure they will enjoy the film.”
Shedding light on her character, she shares, “I play a social activist. I like to stand up for a cause or a protest immediately. Be it then anti-pollution, anti-smoking or anti-corruption. Basically in the character, I want to go ahead and do something for the people. She thinks cleaning up the entire nation is her responsibility.” About her lover boy in the movie, he adds, “Undoubtedly, our ideologies differ and thereafter I shift to a village where Imran follows me. And this firms the crux of the tale.”
Sharing her experience of working with her co-actor Imran, she shares, “Second time working with Imran brings more contentment. We make a great onscreen couple. Especially, working in his company feels good. I find him different when compared to any other Bollywood actor. Firstly, he is totally a non-filmy guy. He is a little foreigner by heart and loves to do different things. Also he is very charming.” Adding about his professional growth, she adds, “Professionally he has definitely grown a lot. He has done a fantastic job in the film ‘GTPM’. However, I have not seen the entire film; I have just watched the rushes of the film. I would give him 8 out of ten. If he gets more then I shall feel happy.”
Talking about the changes she wants to see in the nation, he shares, “Well in real I just hope the law of our country is totally reassessed, I think that is the dire need of the day. People need to take the law seriously. More than our folks, I think the politicians need to abide by the rules and regulations. I think our country can become a better place to live in provided the politicians try to bring in the necessary changes on par with the law and make the citizens law abiding as well.”
When it comes to choosing her films, she shares that at the end of the day what matters are the people you work with. “Choosing films I do not have any specific strategy. After lending my ears to the narration, I either choose the film or reject it. I have experienced a lot in this industry and I also keep in mind whether we will be compatible or not. I can never work in a stressed atmosphere. Big or small films do not matter to me. It has to be a good script and good people with whom I will be working,” shares Kareena about her secret choice factor. Talking about wrong choices and rejecting films, she adds, “It would not be too much to say that I have left quiet many films. And given those films to so many actresses on the platter. But I am okay with it. I am happy after ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ was successful film and I have been working with Karan Johar since then. I have no regrets. I never like to look back.”
Kareena shares how she has been working out religiously for her next film, ‘Shuddhi’ and says, “I have turned serious with my work outs for the last six months. I am training differently for my next film ‘Shuddhi’, it is a different film. I am not making six packs though.”
Talking about her favourite holiday destinations, she shares, “Being a travel freak while I am free I love to travel abroad to Switzerland and other places. But here in India, I love to go to Rajasthan, Jaipur and Jodhpur. I love these cities for its charm and I find the people very simple. The art and architecture of the city is alluring enough. The food is also very delicious. I also find the princely feelings, the grandeur of the raja maharajahs coming alive in these cities. The weather of these cities is one of the reasons that attract my attention.” And adds, “Since ‘Shuddhi’ shoot begins in December 2013 I will not be able to take holidays or enjoy travelling to any destination.”
Talking about the success ‘mantra’, for her marriage, she shares that there isn’t any, and says, “We courted each other five years before tying the knot. We were never in a hurry. There is no success mantra for our marriage. It is unlike any film which needs to have an item number to make some crores at the box office. However, in a marriage one looks forward for a good companionship, love needs to overrule any hassles what may come. I do not need to cook to make Saif happy.”
Confessing to being a homebody, Kareena shares, “I am a home bird. I do not like to socialise or go for parties. I do not have any filmy friends. All my friends are my school days friends. We do hang out at home, chat sometimes and enjoy sharing our experiences. We also sit at home and watch television. I am very lazy to go out gallivanting. But yes, sometimes we do go out. I love to relax at home.”

Bollywood’s iconic script writers, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, came together after decades to unveil the trailer of 3D version of their cult film ‘Sholay’.
“I came to Mumbai but I never thought that I would turn a writer,” says Salim.
On why he is not writing any film at present, he replies, “Again I would say the same. I never plan but you never know times may change and if the Almighty God wants me to pen down few scripts, maybe I shall. Look! I never planned my marriage, not my children.”

Ask him what he has to say for Salman Khan and he replies, “In every son’s eyes, their father is a hero. Salman is a very humble human being.”
He adds, “One trait that I feel he has in him which he inherits from me is that he has shared relationships with a few ladies, but he knows how to respect women.”
Turning nostalgic, he adds, “Yes, It is true that our names went missing on the posters of ‘Sholay’ back then.
“We engaged a painter and asked him to inscribe our names at the bottom of the posters. But that guy being drunk wrote our names all over the places like on the faces of the actors. But, this act surely forced the producers to reckon our hard work and thereafter, everywhere we were given our bylines.”

A recent music launch was a star studded affair with Sonakshi Sinha, Shahid Kapoor, Prabhudeva and Sonu Sood grooving to the peppy numbers.
And the lead heroine confesses that her saucy attitude from ‘Dabangg’ will be back to the fullest as she is no longer scared of slapping her onscreen hero.
“Yes, with this film all my ‘Dabangg’ attitude will be seen, I have also learnt how to slap the hero. I am no longer scared of slapping someone.”
This film will be a great birthday present to her dad, Shatrughan Sinha.
She adds, “This word ‘Khamosh’ has constantly been used by dad in his films. But otherwise also he loves to murmur it to us. Initially when Prabhudeva asked me to murmur this word at the end of one of the songs, I felt that he was joking. But finally when I saw the song, I was shocked and also happy.”

No matter what films Ranbir Kapoor does, his personal and love life will always be more interesting than his work. After all, he is the nation’s upcoming heartthrob and it is only fair he acknowledge the charm he has on women of all ages. Which is why whenever one writes about him, the story will always be primarily about his relationships, with passing details about his work!
On his promotional rounds for his upcoming film Rockstar, Ranbir is bombarded with questions about co-star Nargis Fakhri, whom he is said to be dating. All praises for Nargis, he says, “She will definitely rock this film and Bollywood too. She is a hard working actress and will see herself on top very soon. Her splendid performance will be liked by one and all. Her character is very simple but she has done her best! You guys have always linked me with everyone. It does not matter to me but we are not in any kind of a relationship,” says Ranbir.
The topic moves on to Deepika and about her, he quickly says, “Deepika and I are purely friends now. We are two different individuals and we have learned to move on in life. I know that while doing Ayaan’s film with Deepika everyone would love to see our jodi once again on the silver screen. No one could have refused doing this film. The script is great.”
Talking about his rapport with director Imtiaz Ali, he says, ‘Imtiaz and I are great friend We both crave for good cinema and all we see is cinema, cinema and cinema. Both of us have different opinions and we get into arguments. However I love to follow the captain of the ship. I do not intend to distort the thought process of the director, after all, it is his brain child.”
Ranbir feels Rockstar is a role of a lifetime for him. “Rockstar is by far the most challenging role I have done so far. I feel I have matured a little bit. The character seems to have lingered somewhere in me. I like to do my job to the best of my ability. Working with Imtiaz was a great learning experience. He is an intelligent and painstaking director. I really enjoyed doing this character and wanted the shoot to go on and on… I miss the Rockstar shoot.” We ask him about the films he refused to do – Delhi Belly and My Friend Pinto and he says, “Whatever I am doing I am content about. I do not like to discuss the films I am not a part of.”

Soha Ali Khan recently lost her father Nawab Pataudi and since then, has been trying hard to learn to live without her father. When we caught up with her, her mood was sombre. She said, “All of a sudden, I feel as though I have gained some kind of strength within myself. Though I cannot believe dad is not here anymore, I have a strong feeling he is somewhere here only. Losing a parent is the last thing we would ever want but that’s how life goes is.”
Recalling her father’s last few days, she says, “His health was not in a good condition for a while and he was being treated for lung infection. This was slightly unusual but we hoped against all odds. I always felt he would be okay.”
Sharing some unforgettable memories, she says, “I remember him with a lot of love. He has been there whenever I needed him. Relationships with parents cannot be expressed in words. The dictionary too falls short of words when we want to talk about their unselfish love for their kids. At times, I literally feel his loss which can never be filled with what-so-ever may come. I need to be strong to let life go on.”
On brother Saif, she adds, “Bhai looks physically powerful but, from within I know how hurt he is about Pa leaving us. He is a father too, but you still feel like a kid when you think about your own father.”
Talking about mother Sharmila Tagore she says, “Amma is coping, but this is a great loss for her. Saba and I are spending as much time as we can with her, in order to fill the gap.”
